Job Description About the role
We are looking for a Fixed Plant Mechanical Supervisor to join the team on site working on an 14/14 roster FIFO from Perth. You will be responsible for leading the day‐to‐day maintenance activities across Focus Minerals' processing fixed plant. This role ensures the safe, reliable and efficient operation of key processing assets—including crushers, mills, conveyors, pumps, thickeners, the gold room, and associated infrastructure—through effective coordination of work execution, task allocation and frontline leadership.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the Fixed Plant Maintenance team to deliver high equipment availability aligned with production and processing targets.
* Oversee planning, scheduling and execution of all preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance activities.
* Ensure all maintenance work is executed in compliance with statutory obligations, company standards and the Work Health and Safety (Mines) Regulations 2022.
* Maintain statutory inspections and certifications for pressure vessels, lifting devices and electrical systems.
* Manage and optimise maintenance budgets, labour, materials and contractor resources.
* Implement reliability improvement and defect‐elimination programmes to reduce downtime and maintenance costs.
* Drive asset integrity, condition monitoring and lifecycle management practices.
* Provide leadership, coaching and development to tradespeople and apprentices.
* Collaborate with Operations, Projects and Supply teams to align maintenance priorities and minimise unplanned downtime.
* Monitor and report on KPIs such as plant availability, mean time between failure (MTBF), mean time to repair (MTTR) and cost per tonne.
* Champion continuous improvement initiatives across maintenance practices, shutdown execution and work management processes.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
* Certificate III in Mechanical Fitting / Fitter & Turner trade qualification.
* Current "C" Class Driver's Licence.
* Working at Heights and Confined Space certifications.
* Minimum 5+ years' experience in fixed plant or process plant maintenance, ideally within a mining or mineral processing environment.
* Demonstrated experience maintaining and managing equipment within crushing, milling and gold processing circuits.
* Proven track record of improving plant reliability, maintenance performance and operational efficiency.
* Experience with shutdown planning and execution, including contractor supervision.
* Strong leadership capability, with the ability to coach, mentor and develop team members.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively across teams.
* Strong problem‐solving and decision‐making skills in a maintenance environment.
* Proficiency in CMMS systems and the Microsoft Office Suite.
