About the Role
We are seeking a Product & Project Engineer to join our team at Mana Doors in Pakenham, Victoria.
This is a hands-on role blending product development with project execution. You’ll use your strong mechanical engineering foundation, CAD design expertise, and knowledge of manufacturing processes to drive innovation, improve production efficiency, and deliver solutions that meet performance, cost, and quality targets.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead the design and development of current window and door products using SolidWorks.
- Manage engineering projects from concept to production, including prototyping, testing, and validation.
- Develop detailed project plans, feasibility studies, and risk assessments.
- Collaborate with production, quality, and procurement teams to optimise manufacturability and cost.
- Create and maintain technical documentation (manuals, BOMs, drawings, specifications).
- Implement lean manufacturing initiatives to reduce waste and improve process flow.
- Conduct root cause analysis and corrective actions for product and process issues.
- Support tooling design and automation projects to enhance production capabilities.
- Liaise with suppliers and customers to ensure technical requirements are met.
- Provide technical support to sales, operations, and customers.
About You
You are a energetic, detail-oriented engineer with a problem-solving mindset and the ability to manage complex projects in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication and organisational skills are essential, along with a collaborative approach to working across teams.
A successful applicant will also possess:
- Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
- 5+ years’ experience in the building materials industry.
- Strong understanding of a broad range of manufacturing processes.
- Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks/AutoCAD) and project management tools.
- Knowledge of timber and aluminium door/window construction methods and standards.
- Lean manufacturing and safety training.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and leadership abilities.
