THE COMPANY
One of Australia's most highly-regarded advisory firms is seeking a Development Manager to join its newly established Development Advisory business. This is a rare opportunity to be instrumental in building a high-impact practice from the ground up — contributing to the strategy, culture, and delivery of a team at the forefront of Australian built environment advisory.
Working across a diverse range of asset classes — including living, education, retail, and industrial — you will bring deep development expertise to a collaborative, client-focused environment where your contribution is genuinely valued.
THE ROLE
Reporting to senior leadership, you will take end-to-end ownership of complex development projects and play a key role in shaping the firm's advisory capability. Your responsibilities will include:
* Formulating and driving development strategies across all project stages — from asset strategy and planning through to contractor procurement.
* Overseeing planning, administration, resourcing, reporting, and documentation across multiple concurrent projects, ensuring on‐time and on‐budget delivery.
* Leading design quality, managing risk, and driving performance across multi‐disciplinary project teams.
* Reviewing and challenging assumptions in development feasibility assessments, identifying opportunities to maximise value across two or more asset types.
* Managing commercial contracts and negotiations for joint ventures, land sales, and construction — securing strong terms and building lasting relationships with consultants and contractors.
* Contributing to team culture and the development of standardised project management processes to support a growing, highly collaborative practice.
ABOUT YOU
You are a commercially astute development professional with a track record of delivering complex, high‐value projects in the Australian market. You bring:
* A Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, Urban Planning, Property Economics, or a related discipline.
* 5+ years of experience in Project, Development, or Transactions Management within the Australian real estate market — including at least three years in a client‐side consultancy environment.
* Demonstrated experience managing projects with a value of $25 million or more.
* Strong project planning, coordination, and stakeholder management skills, with proficiency in MS Excel and MS Project.
* Agility and confidence in fast‐paced environments, with the ability to build trusted professional relationships quickly.
