The Director, Regulatory Operations is responsible for leading the design, strategic planning and implementation of the delivery of risk-based, intelligence-led regulatory operations across regulatory frameworks administered by Agriculture Victoria. This includes agriculture, biosecurity, animal welfare and domestic animal regulation.
The Director, Regulatory Operations is responsible for the development of operational regulatory strategies, as well as compliance and enforcement frameworks to ensure Agriculture Victoria's regulatory effort is focused on the highest regulatory risks and harms at the state, regional and local level. This includes the provision of case management, specialist investigations, and enforcement support to Biosecurity Victoria's operational branches, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and regulatory frameworks.
The Director Regulatory Operations leads a large team of regulatory specialists located across the state and is responsible for fostering a culture of collaboration, interoperability and end-to-end service delivery. The Director is a member of the Biosecurity Victoria leadership team and contributes to building a positive culture, high performance and continuous improvement.
This position is required to communicate strategically with impact across a wide range of audiences from on ground stakeholders, regulatory bodies, partner agencies, and key government connections.
This is a fixed term position available for a period of up to 5 years. The work location for this position is flexible within Victoria with hybrid work arrangements available.
