Our client, a leading global investment firm, is seeking a Desktop Support Engineer to join their APAC Technology team. Based in Sydney, this role serves as the technical backbone for regional operations, supporting users across multiple time zones from Mumbai to Melbourne.
This is a high-visibility opportunity combining service desk coordination and hands‐on desk side support, where you'll play a critical role in ensuring seamless day‐to‐day IT operations for a fast‐paced, high‐performance environment.

Working within the core IT support function, you'll take ownership of user support, infrastructure maintenance, and operational IT processes, ensuring a reliable and efficient technology environment for the business.
Key Responsibilities
* Drive Regional Support: Manage incoming tickets and calls across APAC, supporting users in Sydney, Melbourne, and broader regional offices while coordinating across time zones.
* Advanced Troubleshooting: Perform in-depth root cause analysis to resolve complex issues including application errors, Windows updates, and network connectivity.
* Infrastructure Ownership: Maintain local server room environments, including switches, CCTV systems, and firewall infrastructure, ensuring uptime and reliability.
* Asset & Lifecycle Management: Oversee end‐user devices, including provisioning, tracking, and lifecycle management of leased equipment.
* Operational Excellence: Handle IT procurement processes such as invoices and purchase orders, ensuring smooth regional operations.
* Executive Support: Provide high‐quality, zero‐failure AV and technical support for senior stakeholders during board meetings and global investor events.
Education and Requirements
* Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field is an asset but not mandatory.
* Minimum 3‐5+ years of experience in desktop support or service desk environments, ideally within fast‐paced industries such as Finance and Investment Banking.
* Ability to work efficiently under pressure, supporting demanding users where downtime is critical.
* Highly organized with a methodical approach to documentation, asset tracking, and ticket management.
* Strong communication skills with the ability to support users across multiple regions and time zones.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience with ServiceNow or similar ticketing systems.
* Exposure to AV support for executive or large‐scale events.
* Hands‐on experience managing server room infrastructure, including network switches and firewall devices.
* A proactive, solutions‐oriented mindset with the ability to take ownership in a high‐visibility environment.
