Are you a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant looking for your next opportunity? We're seeking a skilled professional to join our Finance Team for a 12-month maternity leave coverage. This is a key role responsible for delivering accurate financial reporting, managing the Fixed Asset Register, and supporting strategic decision-making through insightful analysis. This role is based in our Winnellie office.
About the role
As our Accountant, you will:
* Prepare and deliver timely and accurate financial reports
* Own and maintain the fixed asset register and capital works reporting
* Process accounting transactions and journal entries efficiently
* Support end-of-month processes, forecasting, budgeting, and statutory returns
* Ensure compliance with internal policies and legislative requirements
About You
To succeed in this role, you will have:
* CA or CPA membership (or working towards) with tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce
* Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and analysis
* Minimum 3-5 years in an accounting/finance or auditing role
* Strong understanding of financial controls and accounting procedures
* A high level of proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
* Attention to detail and a commitment to quality
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams
* A flexible, adaptable approach in a fast-paced environment
* Professionalism, confidentiality, and a positive attitude
* Willingness to obtain a Police/Criminal History Clearance
* Unlimited right to work in Australia
