Role
The Senior Coal Technician will provide support to the Laboratory Supervisor and Manager, and participate in laboratory consulting services to clients of Bureau Veritas to effectively control and circumvent all relevant and potential technical issues associated with the client's business.
The Technician will also participate in training and assist with the development and monitoring of internal systems and processes within the laboratory.
Responsibilities
Supplying quality, timely results and products to customers as per their requirements.
Maintaining communication with customers and ensuring confidentiality is maintained at all times.
Ensuring accuracy, precision and timely reporting of analyses.
Carrying out data validations to verify analysis (where possible) and document in relevant job file.
Ensuring proposals, quotations or tenders are approved by Laboratory and National Operations Manager.
Qualifications
Experience working in a coal testing laboratory.
Sound knowledge and good grounding in Coal Processing.
Sound working knowledge of OHS and QA systems and the processes behind these.
Requirements
Must live locally in the Gladstone region and be willing to travel to different mine sites.
NO FIFO.
Ongoing drug & alcohol testing and the ability to meet site inductions is required.
