Busselton Water is located in the beautiful southwest coastal region of WA and offers an enviable lifestyle and the opportunity to be part of the growth and development of our great city.

We are is seeking a driven and experienced Operator to join our team. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of water treatment plants, ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality drinking water to the Busselton community. This position is based in Busselton, Western Australia.

What you'll be doing (key accountabilities)

Reporting to the Team Leader - Networks the Water Industry Worker role key functions consists of the following:

* Constructs and maintains water supply network assets - hydrants, reticulation, mains, customer service connections.
* Candidates must possess all essential physical capabilities including heavy lifting and confined spaces work requirements.

* Provides a rapid response to service emergencies and customer reported faults.

* Assists with works on water treatment plants within the skills and competencies of the operator.

* Provides after hours service in accordance with Busselton Water's on call roster.

* Liaises with customers, contractors, authorities and the public in relation to scheduled and unscheduled works including service faults, complaints and preventative maintenance.

* Constructs and maintain water distribution assets – hydrants, reticulation, mains, customer service connections.

* Assists in the improvement of work instructions for enhanced service delivery within operational areas.

* Assists with operations and maintenance tasks in the water treatment area as and when required.

What we're looking for

* Demonstrated safety experience including use of risk assessments.
* Experience in using a Windows mobile computing device.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve operational targets.
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with stakeholders.
* A valid driver's licence and the ability to work rotating shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
* Working knowledge of the WHS Act 2020 and WHS (General) Regulations 2022.
* Plumbing qualification and experience with water treatment operations is desirable.
* Knowledge of water distribution systems.
