Job Title: Teacher Librarian
About the Position:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated teacher librarian to join our school community. The successful applicant will be responsible for managing the school library, developing and implementing literacy programs, and providing information services to students and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage the school library collection, including ordering and cataloging books and other resources.
* Develop and implement literacy programs for students, including reading and writing workshops, author studies, and book clubs.
* Provide information services to students and staff, including research assistance, reference interviews, and reader's advisory.
* Collaborate with teachers to integrate literacy skills into curriculum areas.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
The successful applicant will have a strong commitment to teaching and learning, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. They will also have a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders to achieve shared goals.
* Approval to teach infants and primary libraries or currently undertaking or currently enrolled in Teacher Librarian qualifications approved by the NSW Department of Education.
* Demonstrated capacity to implement creative and flexible approaches to teaching and learning.
* Highly developed interpersonal skills with the capacity to work collaboratively and build positive relationships with students, staff, and the school community.
Benefits:
This is a part-time position (0.6FTE) and will attract a relocation support payment of $5-8K for eligible applicants. The school is located in regional NSW and offers a supportive and collaborative work environment.
