We are seeking an experienced
Senior Automation Test Engineer
to join our team at a federal government department in Melbourne.
Responsibilities
* Drive an automation-first progression approach for System Test and SIT (System Integration Testing) under both Agile and Waterfall delivery model
* Driving continuous improvement in software quality including automated testing coverage towards 100% (where applicable)
* Develop and continually improving our functional test automation frameworks
* Plan E2E SIT including identifying cost-effective opportunities for automation in E2E SIT
* Support development/completion of Requirements Traceability Matrix for ST, SIT and UAT where required
* Identify testing blockers and proactively drive resolution of them
* Apply knowledge of agile frameworks to validate/confirm traceability to requirements
* Demonstrates propensity to shift left testing and create a strong focus on system test through automation and service virtualisation
* Identify environment and data requirements
* Plan test cases, execute and raise defects
* Proactively manage risk; meeting all policy and compliance requirements; performance controls; adherence to Process and Procedures pertinent to the role
About You
* 5+ years in hands on design, development/scripting and execution of Test Automation frameworks (both UI and API)
* Proficiency in cross browser and web-based automation using Playwright (must-have), with programming skills in Typescript and JavaScript. Selenium, Cucumber, and Java are also highly desirable
* Experience in test landscapes that include many integrated systems, various stakeholders and multiple vendor teams
* Experience in all forms of testing including system, functional, regression, progression, end-to-end, UAT and post implementation testing
* Experience in designing and implementing automation test frameworks using Cucumber, Selenium, Rest API, JAVA, JavaScript, Groovy and Python
* Experience with Continuous Integration /Continuous Development (i.e. Gitlab Merge Requests and CI/CD Pipelines), Test Driven Development and Business Driven Development using DevOps tools such as GitLab and Jenkins
* Experience with ability to work autonomously with little supervision
