Based in Oaklands Park, south of Adelaide, South Australia, a Malaysian bistro/restaurant is seeking an experienced and motivated Restaurant Manager to lead daily operations, ensure exceptional guest experiences, and maintain high standards of service and team performance. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills, with a focus on delivering efficient, smooth, and qualified restaurant operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and coordinate front‑of‑house and back‑of‑house operations to ensure a smooth restaurant workflow and maximize profitability.
- Oversee daily venue operations, service standards, and guest experience.
- Lead, train, and motivate the front‑of‑house team to deliver exceptional customer services.
- Manage rosters, reservations, and inventory that align with the restaurant’s needs.
- Work with Director and chefs on developing menus that enhance customer experience and promote business growth.
- Manages budgets and cost control.
- Maintain accurate financial transactions, monitor the restaurant’s cash flow and settle outstanding bills.
- Ensure compliance with licensing, food safety, hygiene and occupational health and safety regulations.
- Supervise and appraise staff performance, and provide feedback to improve productivity.
- Maintain a clean, functional, and aesthetically pleasing dining environment.
- Communicate with customers to gather feedback, build positive rapport, promptly respond and resolve complaints and issues.
- Drive sales, implement promotions, and contribute to business growth.
About You
- AQF associate degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma in hospitality management.
- Minimum three years’ experience as a Restaurant Manager or senior hospitality leader.
- Great knowledge of food, produce, wine and beverages.
- Excellent communication and customer services skills.
- Ability to multi‑task & prioritize responsibilities.
- Strong leadership attributes and good organizational skills.
- Flexibility to work in the evenings, at weekends and on public holidays.
- Knowledge of Asian or Southeast Asian cuisine is advantageous.
- Multi‑lingual language skills are advantageous.
Salary negotiable to commensurate with relevant experience.
