About the Role
CE Group has gone through a large period of growth and is looking for an experienced Payroll Officer to support the projected increase of growth to ensure we deliver consistency in service delivery to our most valuable asset – our people.
This role is well suited to an individual who thrives in a dynamic and evolving environment, where no two days are the same. As part of an established Finance and HR team, the position will take responsibility for the end‑to‑end payroll function.
Responsibilities
* Oversee the end‑to‑end weekly payroll processing for all company staff.
* Prepare PAYG, Payroll Tax, WorkCover, Portable Redundancy Fund, Long Service Leave, and Superannuation payments.
* Interpret award complexities and EBAs.
* Calculate and process termination payments.
* Manage payroll‑based adjustments such as back pays, WorkCover, and taxation requirements.
* Develop and strive for process improvement to improve efficiencies.
* Provide accurate information in response to employee queries.
About You
You will be someone who has proven experience in a similar Payroll Officer (autonomous) position along with the following skills and attributes.
* More than 2 years' experience of end‑to‑end weekly payroll processing (in‑house); experience using COINS preferred, ADP, Kronos, or similar desirable.
* Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
* Proven process improvement initiatives.
* The ability to work under pressure to achieve deadlines.
* Extensive and current knowledge of payroll legislation and compliance including payroll, tax, PAYG, Workers' Compensation, FBT, Terminations & STP reporting.
* Experience with and are comfortable in interpreting Awards/EBA's/Employment contracts.
* Can work to resolve queries relating to payroll across the organisation.
* Can be relied upon to treat the payroll function with confidentiality.
* Can work collaboratively with teams across the business.
