Violence, Abuse and Neglect Clinician - FWLHD

This position qualifies for an annual Recruitment Incentive Package up to the value of $10,000 (conditions apply and may be pro-rata'd to your contracted or ordinary working hours; payments are made fortnightly) under the NSW Health Rural Health Workforce Incentive Scheme.

This scheme recognises the key role health workers play in delivering rural and remote health services, and aims to provide incentives over and above award entitlements to attract and retain staff in these areas.

What You'll Be Doing

Provide a specialised trauma‑informed, high‑quality service to children, young people, women, men, families and carers in the Far West LHD where there has been physical abuse, emotional abuse and/or neglect, child or adult sexual assault, exposure to or experience of domestic family violence.

How To Apply

To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the selection criteria in the application as thoroughly as possible.

* Relevant Qualifications/Experience as per Award Classification – Social Work (SW Level 3): A Bachelor degree in Social Work with eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers and knowledge, skills and experience to meet the requirements of the NSW Health Professionals Award Level 2. Welfare Officer or Counsellor (Level 3): A Bachelor degree in Social Science, Social Welfare or Counselling, and knowledge, skills and experience to meet the requirements of the NSW Health Professionals Award Level 2. Psychologist: A Bachelor degree with general registration with AHPRA.
* Extensive and comprehensive specialist knowledge of contemporary trauma‑informed practice and relevance to rural/remote service provision and advanced clinical skills in individual and group counselling and therapeutic work.
* High level communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to document accurately; write proficiently; consult effectively with others; and negotiate and develop collaborative partnerships with a range of stakeholders.
* Competency in the use of information and communication technology, including standard office software, for email, internet searches, analysis of clinical data, presentations and clinical documentation.
* Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to working within the principals and impacts of violence, abuse and neglect; independently and within a multidisciplinary team framework.
* The ability to collaborate and work effectively and sensitively with a diverse range of clients, including remote communities and Aboriginal people.
* Ability to exercise independent professional judgement and advanced reasoning skills for problem solving, prioritising and managing complex caseloads involving expansion, adaptation or modification or principles, procedures and techniques.
* Current unrestricted NSW Drivers Licence and ability to travel as part of the role within an outreach and on‑call capacity.
