The role of a skilled Maintenance Fitter is to ensure the smooth operation and maintenance of mechanical systems. This involves conducting routine checks, repairs, and replacements of faulty components to prevent downtime and ensure optimal performance.
As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for completing marine fitting tasks as directed, including inspection, testing, and servicing of on-board mechanical systems. You will also be required to inspect, analyze, and record critical measurements, data, or information during the process of undertaking mechanical refurbishment works.
To be successful in this role, you must possess a strong understanding of mechanical principles and have excellent problem-solving skills. You should be able to work independently and as part of a team, with good communication and interpersonal skills. Additionally, you must be capable of performing work in a safe and acceptable manner, adhering to all relevant safety protocols and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct marine fitting tasks as directed, including inspection, testing, and servicing of on-board mechanical systems.
* Inspect, analyze, and record critical measurements, data, or information during the process of undertaking mechanical refurbishment works.
* Complete works in the required time frames and inform line Supervisors/Managers if unachievable.
Requirements
* Construction White Card
* Trade Qualification - Fitter & Turner, Machinist, Diesel Fitter (Heavy), Pipe Fitter
* Demonstrated experience in marine refit/repair or heavy industrial
* High Risk Works - Confined space/Working at heights
