Solicitor in Charge Crime - Legal Officer VI

* Salary range $165,865.00 - $169,359.00 pa (plus superannuation and leave loading)
* Temporary Full-time contract up to 12 months
* Location: Parramatta Justice Precinct


About Us

Legal Aid NSW delivers accessible legal services across criminal, family and civil law. We provide advice, court representation, and family dispute resolution through 28 offices and phone-based support, helping people navigate the legal system with confidence and fairness.


About The Role

Lead and manage the day-to-day activities of the office or team to ensure the efficient and effective use of resources and delivery of high-quality services that meet the needs of clients and the community. Develop key relationships with internal and external stakeholders including the private profession, legal assistance providers and the courts. Conduct a legal practice as other priorities permit.


About You

You are an experienced lawyer with proven leadership and management skills. You bring expertise in handling complex legal matters and demonstrate a strong commitment to delivering high-quality client service. Your ability to engage effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders sets you apart.

Management experience is essential, and you have a track record of mentoring and developing staff, driving service improvements, and fostering a collaborative team environment. You thrive in dynamic settings and are motivated to lead with integrity and vision.

You Must


The essential requirements for this role

* be admitted or be eligible for admission as a legal practitioner in NSW
* be able to provide a current NSW Practising Certificate before you start work with us
* be willing to do a Criminal Record Check and Working with Children Check
* hold Australian or NZ citizenship, Australian Permanent Residency (for ongoing vacancies) or a valid visa to work in Australia (for temporary vacancies)
* Current driver’s licence
