An opportunity currently exists for a Maintenance Fitter based at our North Fremantle Site on a permanent full-time basis. This role is responsible for the efficient and effective maintenance and repair of all plant and machinery and assisting with scheduled preventative maintenance according to Australian Standards, relevant regulations, and manuals for the North Fremantle operations.
Key accountabilities include:
• Maintain plant, equipment, buildings, and services on site.
• Attend and resolve unplanned breakdowns.
• Maintain spare parts inventory.
• Perform preventative maintenance activities in accordance with designated schedules.
• Identify opportunities to improve plant and equipment reliability.
• Maintain hygiene / GMP to acceptable level for area of responsibility.
• Follow site/company guidelines on Quality System and HACCP procedures and policies.
• Ensure compliance with site OHS policies and procedures.
• Report near miss and incidents, complete investigations and implement corrective actions in a timely manner.
The successful applicant will possess:
• Trade qualified in mechanical fitting or other relevant field.
• At least five years of maintenance fitter experience working in FMCG or Mills industries, specifically baking.
• Welding experience (MIG.TIG & ARC).
• Previous PM and breakdown maintenance experience.
• Experience with pneumatics, automation and hydraulic.
• Experience and knowledge of Lean manufacturing practice such as 5S.
• Sound analytical and conceptual skills.
• Ability to operate without supervision.
• Effective communications skills.
• Working at height and confined space.
• Willing to work the afternoon shift.
