About the Role
We're looking for a talented Digital Reporter/ Producer to create digital and social content on a daily basis for triple j Hack. You'll be producing original video content for triple j Hack's digital and social media platforms including writing copy, taking and editing images and creating graphics. You'll work with Hack reporters to develop digital roll out plans for key stories, including written articles, social media content, short form videos, images, audio and graphics.
* Respond to breaking news in a timely manner, working under tight deadlines to create digital content that's relevant to the hack demographic.
* Collate and repurpose content from other ABC platforms and partner news organisations as triple j Hack social content.
* Write and sub edit copy, headlines and captions for Hack digital and social media platforms.
* Initiate and moderate audience engagement and social media discussions.
* Advise Hack EP on emerging trends and future content ideas.
About You
You're a dynamic digital storyteller with a proven track record in creating engaging content within fast‐paced digital media environments. You pair strong technical knowledge of digital platforms and web applications with a sharp editorial instinct, producing high‐quality, visually compelling stories that resonate.
With experience in online journalism, you bring sound news judgement and refined editorial skills, alongside the ability to execute strategic content plans that balance creativity with performance. You're highly skilled across social and digital platforms, using analytics to uncover insights, optimise storytelling, and continually improve audience engagement.
You understand what matters to 18–29‐year‐olds and know how to craft cross‐platform content that captures their attention. You're confident working with CMS platforms, social channels and image/video editing tools, delivering polished work even under tight deadlines.
You're a natural collaborator who thrives across teams, bringing together diverse ideas to deliver on shared goals. You stay calm under pressure and consistently produce high‐quality work to tight deadlines.
