This position sits within the DevOps and Infrastructure function and will play a key role in supporting a large-scale SQL uplift initiative aimed at improving performance, scalability, and reliability across the organisation's platforms.
Working closely with infrastructure engineers, DevOps specialists, and data professionals, you will contribute to modernising SQL environments and improving how data solutions are developed, deployed, and supported.
Key responsibilities will include:
* Contributing to a large-scale SQL uplift program to enhance database performance and stability.
* Developing and optimising SQL scripts, stored procedures, and database objects.
* Collaborating with DevOps and infrastructure teams to support database deployment and operational processes.
* Working with technical SMEs to review current database solutions and identify improvement opportunities.
* Supporting the build, testing, and release of database changes across development and production environments.
* Assisting with backend data preparation to support reporting and analytics requirements.
* Ensuring solutions align with best practices for maintainability, performance, and operational support.
Key skills and experience include:
* Strong SQL development experience within enterprise environments.
* Experience working with database optimisation, performance tuning, and structured code development.
* Understanding of DevOps practices including release processes, automation, and version control.
* Ability to develop reliable, maintainable, and production-ready database code.
* Exposure to scripting or programming languages such as Python
* Experience supporting backend data preparation for different technology teams.
