Overview
Peppers Silo Hotel is a $30 million redevelopment of the Kings Wharf grain silos in Launceston, Tasmania. The nine-storey hotel has 108 rooms, including 52 in the barrels of the former silos, and overlooks Seaport, Royal Park, the Tamar River Basin and Cataract Gorge. On the ground floor you will find Silo Day Spa; Level 1 features Grain of the Silos offering dining experiences across the restaurant, café and Woody's Bar. Launceston is a gastronomic hub with a diverse range of wineries, distilleries, markets and art galleries to explore during your downtime.
Purpose
As a
Barista
, you will craft delightful coffee experiences. With your skills you will brew more than beverages, creating moments of comfort and joy for our customers. Your friendly demeanor, attention to detail, and neat workspace will ensure that every visit is a pleasant one.
Responsibilities
Create a welcoming and friendly atmosphere where every moment becomes a memory and every experience a story.
Skilfully prepare a wide spectrum of beverages, from coffee classics to hot and cold drink offerings.
Proactively source information to increase your product knowledge.
Confidently communicate with guests and colleagues for seamless teamwork.
Skills and Experience
familiarity with coffee brewing techniques, including espresso extraction, milk steaming, and tea preparation.
Experience in roles involving direct customer interaction, showcasing strong communication and people skills.
Proficiency in operating coffee machines, grinders, and other barista tools.
Passion for engaging with patrons and collaborating within a team of diverse professionals.
Flexibility to work weekends, evenings and holidays.
Possession of a valid RSA or equivalent qualification for the applicable country/state/territory.
