POSITION : SENIOR HOUSING OFFICER

EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Permanent Full-Time – 38 hours per week
SHIFT TIMES: Day:8:30am – 4:40pm (Some flexibility may be required to meet operational needs)

ROLE OVERVIEW:
In this role, you will provide Management of the organisations Social Housing and supported accommodation Properties. This is a complex, hands-on role including tenancy management, scheduling and attending property inspections, maintenance coordination, compliance, reporting and asset management to ensure safe, compliant and sustainable housing outcomes.
This role will attract a passionate community worker or someone with a keen interest in real-estate, property management or who has social housing sector experience and is ready to make that next step in their career.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Property and tenancy management
Scheduling and attending routine, compliance and vacate property inspections
Maintenance coordination, work orders and scheduling of internal maintenance staff
Tenant rent reviews and arrears monitoring
Monthly and quarterly Department reporting
Compliance, audits and inspections
Stakeholder liaison with government, landlords and contractors
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Drivers License
2. First Aid Certificate
3. Blue Card for working with children and young people
4. Relevant Experience in tenancy management within community housing, social housing or similar regulated tenancy environments.
5. National Police Criminal History Check
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
1. Demonstrated experience managing housing or property portfolios, including inspections and compliance with housing standards and WHS requirements, coordinating maintenance activities, managing work orders, scheduling internal maintenance staff and liaising with contractors to ensure timely completion of works.
2. Experience managing tenancy functions including tenant onboarding, rent reviews, arrears monitoring, key management and tenancy record keeping
3. Experience preparing accurate reports and compliance documentation, including monthly and quarterly reporting to government or funding bodies and supporting audits.
4. Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines and work autonomously in a regulated environment. Proven ability to work independently while also accepting supervision, feedback, and implementing the outcomes of discussions effectively.
5. Demonstrated experience using housing or case management systems to maintain accurate records (experience using Chintaro highly regarded). Proficiency in using computers and various software applications.
6. Demonstrated understanding of confidentiality, professional boundaries and ethical practice when working with vulnerable clients
7. Well-developed and stakeholder engagement skills, including liaising professionally with tenants, contractors, government agencies and internal staff and the ability to negotiate and mediate with tenants while demonstrating cultural sensitivity and respect for diverse backgrounds.
