Your new role
Do you have experience in the operation, maintenance, and servicing of plant in the civil construction industry? Rockhampton Regional Council's Rural Operations team is seeking three enthusiastic and safety focused Plant Operator/Labourers for our teams in Mt Morgan and Gracemere.
These roles will see you operating plant and machinery, including pneumatic tyred powered road rollers (over 8 tonne) while undertaking a variety of civil construction tasks such as, road pavement reconstruction and rural road building, trench excavation, pipe laying, concreting, and level-checking.
You'll also draw on your expertise in operating small machinery, hand tools, and communication equipment such as two-way radios.
All positions require the completion of a satisfactory Criminal History Check - Police Certificate (Australia Wide Name Only Police Check).
What we are looking for
Depending on the role, applicants should demonstrate:
* Extensive experience operating a Road Roller (over 8 tonne), with additional competencies in front end loader, backhoe, or other plant.
* Relevant licences: HR/HC/MR or higher, or unrestricted "C" Class licence (depending on position).
* Construction Industry Induction (White Card).
* Proven ability to work in rural environments and civil construction settings.
* Strong teamwork skills with the ability to work independently and across diverse teams.
* Safety-first attitude, with the ability to identify hazards and risks on the worksite.
* Desirable tickets/experience for grader, dozer, water trucks, or other plant.
