Job Description As the Marketing and Communications Manager, Research, you will provide expert marketing and communications advice and hands-on delivery across Griffith’s research portfolio, supporting research reputation and rankings, HDR recruitment, and major research initiatives, including significant funding bids. This role combines strategic judgement with practical delivery. You will be trusted to shape, execute and optimise marketing and communications initiatives, working collaboratively with colleagues across Marketing and Communications, and in close partnership with senior research stakeholders. Partnering closely with the Office for Research, the Griffith Graduate Research School, and research centres and institutes, you will bring clarity and momentum to a complex, multi-stakeholder environment, translating research priorities into effective, evidence-based marketing and communications outcomes. Key responsibilities You will: Own the development and delivery of integrated marketing and communications initiatives supporting research reputation, rankings and HDR recruitment, from strategy through to execution and optimisation. Support major research bids and high-profile funding initiatives, providing strategic marketing and communications advice and delivering targeted communications activity as required. Act as the primary marketing and communications partner for key research stakeholders, providing trusted advice and managing competing priorities with sound judgement. Plan, deliver and optimise multi-channel campaigns (including digital, SEM, nurture, web and events) to support research recruitment and engagement objectives. Manage and evolve core research marketing assets, including websites, databases and campaign materials, ensuring accuracy, relevance and performance. Contribute to research reputation initiatives, including rankings communications and profiling opportunities, working with centres, institutes and bid teams as required. Use market insight and performance data to inform decision-making and continuously improve marketing effectiveness. Work collaboratively across Marketing and Communications, including CX, media and creative teams, to deliver cohesive, high-quality outcomes. Ensure compliance with University policies, brand standards and legislative requirements. About you To be successful in this role, you will have: Experience in the higher education or research sector. Demonstrated experience delivering marketing and communications outcomes in a complex, stakeholder-rich environment. Proven ability to translate strategic objectives into practical, high-quality communications and marketing activity. Well-developed senior stakeholder management skills, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and shifting priorities. Experience working across digital channels, campaigns, content and web, supported by data and performance insights. High-level written and verbal communication skills, with a strong grounding in communications practice. A tertiary qualification in marketing, communications or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience. Ideally you will have an understanding of the tertiary research landscape. The total FTE package will be $118,249 – $128,110 per annum.
