Overview
Economics / Business Studies Teacher Commencing Term 1 2026 / Full-time / Permanent. The School is looking for a passionate, enthusiastic and experienced Economics / Business Studies teacher to join the Humanities team at St Andrew's Cathedral School. This is a full-time, permanent position, commencing Term 1, 2026.
Responsibilities
Deliver Economics / Business Studies to senior secondary students (HSC Economics / Business Studies and/or IB Business Management) in Years 11 and 12.
Teach Stage 5 elective Commerce and collaboratively contribute to HSIE curriculum.
Willingness to teach Stages 4 and 5 History and Geography as needed.
Inspire students with enthusiasm for the subject and support their academic growth.
Apply up-to-date pedagogy and technology to enhance learning in the classroom.
Collaborate with the HSIE team and contribute to the school's Christian mission, values and ethos.
Qualifications / Experience
Recent experience in teaching HSC Economics / Business Studies and/or IB Business Management across Years 11 and 12.
Ability to teach Stage 5 elective Commerce.
Experience or willingness to teach History and Geography at Stages 4 and 5.
Knowledge of recent developments in secondary pedagogy relevant to the subject area.
Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with the HSIE team.
Confidence in the use of technology to enhance learning.
An understanding of and commitment to the School's Christian mission, values and ethos.
Experience teaching International Baccalaureate MYP/DP is advantageous.
Working with Children Check clearance is required prior to employment as per the Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012.
