The Deputy CEO Safety in Sport provides strategic leadership across a diverse and complex set of functions contributing to sport integrity operations and capability building outcomes. The role relies upon extensive relevant senior executive experience, to lead the Division in delivering Sport Integrity Australia outcomes, with a clear focus on driving connections with external stakeholders. It is responsible for management and direction across the Operations branch, including leadership in the delivery of anti-doping intelligence, testing and investigations, and the engagement with sporting organisations to deliver education, capability development, and the management of sport integrity related complaints. The key duties of the position include The Deputy CEO will: Provide strategic leadership and direction to the Safety in Sport division and across the agency as a member of the Sport Integrity Australia senior executive leadership team spanning child safeguarding and protection of vulnerable people in sport and anti-doping frameworks. Provide operational leadership and accountability to the agency's operational functions including as Australia's National Anti-Doping Organisation; administering the National Integrity Framework; fulfilling Australia's responsibilities to the Council of Europe Anti-Doping Convention and UNESCO International Convention against Doping in Sport; and fulfilling Commonwealth commitments to support the delivery and legacy of international major sporting events hosted in Australia. Lead a strategic approach to external stakeholder engagement (domestic and international) to build strong and collaborative partnerships with government, the Australian and international sport sector and partner law enforcement agencies, to effectively support and influence in line with organisational and government objectives. Drive and guide future readiness through capability development (including strengthening foundations to underpin trust and confidence in the work of the agency, research, innovation and lessons learned) and reform in partnership on the pathway to 2032 and beyond. Lead the evaluation of effectiveness of operational delivery including monitoring, intelligence and investigations, and program delivery including engagement, education, outreach, research and development. Provide oversight and accountability of managerial activities such as budget, contract and procurement management for the Division, ensuring strict compliance with the PGPA Act and other legislative frameworks. Provide strategic advice and quality reporting to the CEO and Minister for Sport (while upholding operational independence as necessary to meet the World Anti-Doping Agency requirements), to support decision making across all relevant activity, issues and strategic business areas including input to government submissions, briefings or papers, and to appear at Senate Estimates and other enquiries and hearings as required. Act as the Sport Integrity Australia and government representative on key domestic and international bodies and forums. Key accountabilities for members of SIA's Executive team include, but are not limited to: Upholding and role modelling the APS Values and APS Code of Conduct at all times, driving the highest standards of professionalism, performance, integrity and collaboration across SIA. Ensuring an enterprise perspective is considered while leading and delivering on respective Division or Branch priorities. Anticipating, planning and leading ongoing change to enhance the capability, agility, and reputation of SIA; and positioning it as a highly respected national coordination agency, for the integrity of sport. Managing resources and working to ensure outcomes are delivered within agreed timeframes and within budget. Effectively communicating and engaging with SIA staff to fully develop and utilise their knowledge and skills. Identifying and developing mitigation strategies for potential risks to achieve Sport Integrity Australia's objectives. Establishing and maintaining effective relationships with key stakeholders in sports and government. Ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation including the Sport Integrity Australia Act 2020, the Sport Integrity Australia Regulations 2020, the National Anti-Doping scheme, the World Anti-Doping Code, the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013 and the Public Interest Disclosure Act 2013 and internal policy and procedures.
