About the Business Unit: Justice System Coordination and Reform (JSCR) group supports the Attorney-General and DJCS Ministers to deliver court services policy, and civil and criminal law, responsibilities by providing legal, policy and stakeholder management expertise. We work collaboratively with key entities across the justice system and the department to ensure policy reform is strategic, relevant, holistic and people centred. About the Role: The Senior Legal Policy Officer is responsible for the co-ordination, development, implementation, review and reform of policy and legislation across the Attorney-General's portfolio, whilst providing considered, informed and authoritative advice to senior executives and government on key policy and legislation issues and system reform issues. The successful candidate will be expected to work flexibly across projects within the team and more broadly across the JSCR group as required to meet the priorities of government. Some of your duties will include: Developing and implementing legal policy proposals and initiatives within the Attorney-General's reform program. Support the identification and implementation of project management processes to establish a stable framework for the monitoring, reporting and implementation of outcomes arising from complex, multi-stakeholder projects, ensuring all timelines and dependencies are met. Providing considered, informed and authoritative advice to the senior executives and government on key policy and legislation issues and system reform issues. Sound knowledge of and/or experience in Victorian Government administrative processes, policy development and legislative processes.
