TradeNet Solutions is an Australian SaaS company providing whole of business solutions to buying groups across AU/NZ/UK/US with platforms including communication, eLearning, rebates/deals, EDI, reporting, and data distribution. We’re also developing exciting new innovations to their broader supply chain with the highly anticipated launch of new technology imminent.
We’re a small, hands-on team that ships quickly, values clean code, and works closely with customers. We have an immediate need to grow our existing rockstar team of talented in-house developers by adding a new full-time PHP Full-Stack Developer.
The role (Laravel-first: legacy → Laravel)
Lead and contribute to the progressive redevelopment of a legacy CodeIgniter 3 application into Laravel. You’ll design new Laravel services, carve out legacy domains into clean modules, and own end-to-end delivery on Azure. In a compact team, your decisions directly shape the architecture, tooling, and developer experience.
You’ll work on
- Designing Laravel services/modules and REST APIs to replace legacy features
- Incremental migration (e.g. strangler pattern ) from CI3 to Laravel
- Defining domain boundaries, data contracts, and MySQL schema improvements
- Front-end features with HTML/CSS/JS (Vue or Alpine) & Laravel Blade/Livewire
- Quality & delivery: PHPUnit, static analysis, code reviews, and CI/CD on Azure
- Observability & performance: meaningful logging/metrics, query tuning, p95/p99 gains

What you bring
- 4–5 years’ experience (including 3+ years in commercial software; 2+ in SaaS)
- Strong PHP with CodeIgniter 3 (legacy) and Laravel
- Git/GitHub, REST fundamentals, and front-end basics (HTML/CSS/JS; Vue/Alpine)
- Nice to have: Azure services & pipelines, JIRA/agile, PHPUnit/automation.

Practicalities
- Work type: Hybrid/On-site at Notting Hill Head Office (Melbourne)
- Salary band: up to AUD$100k + Super, commensurate with experience
- Right to work: Must have legal entitlement to work in Australia
