What's the role?
We're looking for a leader of leaders to backfill a Senior Manager, Regulatory Reporting position to cover a 9‑month parental leave absence. This fixed term leadership position will ideally see you based in either Adelaide or Parramatta, but we're open to considering experienced applicants from any state within Australia. You'll oversee a large team of colleagues managing day‑to‑day financial crime prevention activities focused on regulatory reporting, including Suspicious Matter Reports (SMRs), International Funds Transfer Instructions (IFTIs), and Transaction Threshold Reports (TTRs). You'll have 4 x Direct onshore reports, 47 x onshore Analysts and 7 x Direct reports offshore. This role combines significant leadership, operational discipline, and strategic oversight. You'll ensure compliance with regulatory obligations, optimise processes, and drive continuous improvement with an AI overlay while managing risks related to money laundering, terrorist financing, and other financial crimes.
What do I need?
* Extensive experience in either domestic or international financial crime prevention with hands on experience in AI tooling for enhanced decisioning.
* Strong knowledge and practical understanding of the AML/CTF Act, associated Rules, reforms, and relevant regulatory expectations.
* Excellent reporting and analytical skills, with strong attention to detail and a data‑driven approach to decision‑making.
* Proven ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders across all levels of the organisation.
* Proven experience in regulatory reporting (SMRs, IFTIs, TTRs).
* Strong knowledge of financial crime regulations and compliance requirements.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
