* Remuneration: $40/hr for 35hrs per week - commensurate with experience

Position/Role Objectives
The Landcare Broken Hill Coordinator position (LLC) is responsible for providing support to and assisting with coordination of local community volunteer Landcare ideas and projects. The Local Landcare Coordinator will work for and under the supervision of Landcare Broken Hill volunteers and in conjunction with other Landcare staff employed by Western Landcare NSW Inc.
The Landcare Broken Hill Coordinator will focus on empowering participation in Landcare by individuals and community groups to increase the capacity of the Association and to deliver against the target outcomes of the LP3 - NSW Landcare Program. Maintain our existing database, interact with our members and encourage participation.
The Local Landcare Coordinator will be expected to collaborate with a range of Landcare support mechanisms including other Local Western Region Coordinators, the Regional Administration Support Officer (RASO) EO, the Western Regional Coordinator (RLC), and individuals, community groups, council employees, corporates and other businesses working with Landcare Broken Hill.
Key Deliverables of the Landcare Broken Hill Coordinator:
Local Landcare and network support and advocacy
* Community Liaison – act as a central contact point for Landcare Broken Hill to support and supply information to the public and/or members.
* Stimulate local community engagement and participation in Landcare.
* Provide support to members and others to participate in activities addressing natural resource management, and environmental issues.
* Undertake and support planning for LBH Inc members & projects including helping our volunteers roster tasks/watering at Imperial Lakes Nature Park; coordinate events and working bees.
Host organisation support and capacity building
* Provide administration support to Landcare Broken Hill Inc. as required.
* Undertake regular communication with members and volunteers which may include creation of newsletters and social media content as per LBH Board approval.
* Set up and manage the web site and create a database of information from Landcare to utilise in projects.
* Communicate information on projects and group work to other Landcare's across the region – including but not limited to monthly updates in the Western Landcare NSW newsletter.
* Represent local group needs through participation in Regional and State Community of Practice in line with other WLNSW employees.
* Assist in Grant Submissions – Grant Fundraising
* Help to onboard new members and create on-going communication as required.
Reporting
* Monitor, evaluate and report on activities and outcomes – to LBH as required and to WLNSW through the use of the CAT (app).
* Facilitate linkages between Landcare activities/projects, Local Land Services and Landcare NSW through completion of case studies (2 per year)
* Work with WLNSW to develop and implement a Regional Priority Action Plan
Reporting/Supervision arrangements
Position reports to the Landcare Broken Hill Inc. Chair, supervised by volunteers and is supported by WLNSW via monthly Coordinator meetings.

The successful applicant will be working within a broader Landcare network, with available support.
The Landcare Broken Hill Coordinator will work for Landcare Broken Hill Inc. along with a broader network of Western Region Local Landcare Coordinators, a Western Regional Landcare Coordinator and other agencies as per Community of Practice.

* A current driver's licence, first aid certificate and NSW Working with Children Check.
* Good knowledge/understanding of Association Governance and Law

* Experience in project planning, management, record keeping and report writing and grant writing.
* Excellent networking and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Sound coordination, administration, and computer skills.
* Flexibility with working hours over the period of employment.
Selection Criterion
Please address each of the following criteria:
* Sound understanding of environmental issues in Broken Hill and the Far West of NSW and empathy with the local community; and demonstrated experience or a qualification in Natural Resource Management, Environmental Science, Sustainable Agriculture or similar. An understanding of the term "Natural Capital".
* Demonstrated well developed written and oral communication skills, including competency in the use of Word, Excel, email, Publisher, and the internet.
* Demonstrated ability to work with and develop community projects, including group facilitation, action planning and mediation skills.
* Proven ability to work with Government agencies, community groups and landholders, including schools and indigenous groups.
* Demonstrated ability to work with minimum supervision, use initiative and work as part of a team or network.
* Ability and willingness to work outside office hours from time to time, to contact members and attend community group meetings and board meetings.
* Ability to travel in and around Broken Hill or to Community of Practice events as required. (this could mean travel to Cobar, Wentworth)
* Current Driver's License and comprehensive insurance on vehicle.

Attendance at meetings outside of normal work hours will be required.
Travel around the region and infrequent travel and overnight stays may be required.
You may be required to use your own vehicle for work purposes and therefore need to provide us with copies of current Comprehensive insurance policy for your vehicle. Vehicle use will be reimbursed on a per kilometre basis.
