Continuing, Full Time Appointment

• Do you love bringing people together and creating a sense of community?

• Are you passionate about creating safe, inclusive, and vibrant spaces for students?

• Do you genuinely enjoy collaborating with both students and staff to make things happen?

Join our Student Life team at Charles Darwin University, part of the broader Student Success portfolio.

We aim to bring campuses to life through creative activations, events, and experiences that help students feel connected, inspired, and part of something bigger. By building community and connection, this role plays a key part in supporting student success, wellbeing, and engagement.

About the Position

This role is all about creating a vibrant, connected, and welcoming campus community. You will play a key role in developing a strong sense of student community by coordinating and contributing to CDU's range of initiatives, events, and activities. In this role, you will ensure activities are strategically aligned, effectively promoted, and genuinely reflective of student needs and aspirations. Through creative campus activations and placemaking initiatives, you will help make spaces feel engaging, accessible, and connected for all students.

You will lead events from conception to delivery, incorporating student feedback and input throughout the planning process. This includes managing the full lifecycle of activities, from early brainstorming and consultation through to delivery, evaluation, and iteration, ensuring each initiative is student-centred and purpose-driven.

You will work across multiple teams, building partnerships and creating a shared sense of purpose among stakeholders. You'll be joining a small, passionate team that values creativity, collaboration, and community. Some days you'll be shaping strategic ideas, other days you'll be on the ground seeing your work come to life through student smiles and campus energy.

As the role continues to evolve, we're looking for someone who is adaptable, comfortable navigating ambiguity, and open to experimenting with new approaches as student needs and priorities shift. You will also contribute to the marketing and promotion of initiatives, ensuring communications are timely, student-friendly, and aligned with Student Life's engagement goals. In addition, the role supports activating campus spaces through creative, student-centred initiatives that make CDU feel lively, welcoming, and connected.

By fostering collaboration and ensuring students and staff are engaged throughout planning and delivery, you will help create experiences that are inclusive, impactful, and aligned with CDU's broader student engagement vision.

Key responsibilities include:

Leading and coordinating the end-to-end delivery of student engagement activities and events, including incorporating student feedback and input throughout planning

Coordinating and maintaining a strategic calendar of student engagement activities across campuses

Supporting inclusive, safe, and well-executed events, and contributing to a campus environment that is welcoming, safe, and inclusive for all students

Providing advice and coordination support to other teams delivering student events

Building partnerships across teams to align initiatives and maximise impact

Contributing to shared team projects and supporting colleagues during busy periods

Supporting the development of student-focused promotional content including social media and promotional materials for events and initiatives, in collaboration with relevant teams

About You

* Experience working within a university or student-focused environment
* Knowledge of student wellbeing and safety frameworks, including risk management and duty of care

Why You'll Love Working with Us:
