Canex has an opportunity for 10 Casual Kitchenhand/Cooks to work in Darwin city and surrounding regions, Northern Territory The roles can vary and you could be tasked with : -Assist chefs with basic food preparation
* Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment
* Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and food prep areas
* Dispose of rubbish and recycling appropriately
* Follow food safety and hygiene standards
* Assist with receiving and storing deliveries
* Support the kitchen team during busy service periods
For this exciting role you must have a good level of physical fitness, as you are often on your feet and active for the majority of your shift. Requirements:
* Ready and able to work long shifts (11 hours a day)
* Be flexible in your approach to work
* A great attitude with your work
* Be neat in tidy
* Be able to work alone or part of a team.
You will be required to work an average of 30 hours per week. The term of work will be from May 2026 to May 2027. You will be paid either under the Hospitality Industry (General) Award [MA000009], the Amusement, Events and Recreation Award [MA000080], General Retail Industry Award [MA000004] or the Restaurant Industry Award [MA000119] or Thamarrurr Enterprise Agreement or Registered and Licensed Clubs Award [MA000058].
* The work will range in pay from an ordinary rate of Introductory, Level 1 $30/hr up to Level 2 $33+/hr
* Working hours will vary from anywhere from 6am to 11pm, 7 days per week.
* Overtime rates will be paid where applicable
* Upskilling & additional allowances may also be paid if you were trained in extra tasks.
