The role
We are seeking highly skilled and dedicated Consultant/Specialist Anaesthetists to join a dynamic team. An exciting opportunity for experienced anaesthetists to contribute to the delivery of high-quality anaesthetic services in a supportive, multidisciplinary setting.
Live in a vibrant city – work in a major tertiary teaching hospital.
* Total Indicative Remuneration: $403,863 – $748,105 p.a. Ongoing Full-Time or Part-Time (Multiple Positions)
* You will join a collegiate team of 34 anaesthetic specialists.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide expert anaesthetic care across a variety of clinical settings, including elective and emergency surgeries.
* Participate in perioperative planning and patient optimization.
* Supervise and mentor junior doctors, including registrars and medical officers.
* Engage in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to clinical governance.
* Participate in the on-call roster to provide after-hours anaesthetic services.
The work is challenging and rewarding with a broad range of services including:
* A 24-hour emergency anaesthesia service.
* Major surgery including colorectal, upper GI, liver, urology, breast-endocrine and gynaecology.
* Major orthopaedics including arthroplasty, revision surgery and trauma.
* Busy obstetric unit with over 3000 deliveries/year and a 24-hour epidural service.
* Other surgical specialties include paediatrics, ENT, plastics, ophthalmology, ECT, gastroenterology and bronchoscopy.
* 24-hour acute pain service with daily rounds.
* Ongoing QI, audit, research and CME activities.

Essential Criteria:
Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA) or equivalent recognized qualification.
