The Metropolitan South Region are looking for Wellbeing Youth Workers who have a passion for providing professional support and information for students, parents, carers and school communities that facilitate partnerships in decision making for the enhancement of all students' learning.
The Wellbeing Youth Worker will work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team at the school level. The position will provide direct early intervention support to complex students at risk of disengaging from education and their school community.

Your Responsibilities
As the Youth Worker, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
* Provide individualised case management and intervention to promote a student's social and emotional wellbeing, educational engagement, attendance and academic success.
* Engage at risk and complex students in social and interpersonal skill building, behaviour modification activities and educational engagement activities.
* Work in partnership with classroom teachers to implement individual student support plans.
* Develop and deliver engagement programs or partner with an approved external program provider to implement well-being, interpersonal or educational engagement programs.
* Work with students, and their families, to determine and implement strategies suited to their context that help students to have a more positive educational experience.
* Enhance students' social skills, assertiveness, self-esteem and problem-solving skills through a strength-based approach to providing support.
* Work collaboratively with cohorts of students who may be facing similar challenges to build peer relationships and establish social networks for support.
* Undertake home visits to disengaged students and families and provide wrap around support.
* Develop external partnerships with community service partners to provide additional wrap around services to students and families.
* With student permission, work with other wellbeing and school staff to ensure strategies developed for the student can be put in place in the classroom and the wider school community.

A mandatory requirement of this role is:
When working in regulated employment an employee must have a current Working with Children Clearance (blue card) issued by Blue Card Services.
Highly Desirable for this role:
Relevant TAFE or University Qualification related to youth work.
