Qualified Greenkeeper - Colac Golf Club
Colac Golf Course is highly regarded as a 'hidden gem.' The club was formed in 1896 and today the 18-hole course is considered one of Western Victoria's best kept secrets.
Colac Golf Club has an exciting full-time opportunity for a Greenkeeper to step into a leadership position responsible for the on-going maintenance and improvements on the course.
The Role
We are looking for a dedicated individual who not only meets the technical qualifications but also has a genuine passion for the golf and turf industry. The ideal candidate will bring their enthusiasm and knowledge to help maintain and enhance our facilities.
The successful applicant will have the following attributes:
* Certificate 3 in Sports Turf Management.
* Experience in all aspects of golf course and/or sports field maintenance.
* Competent with a wide range of turf machinery.
* Hard working, punctual, and physically fit (able to handle outdoor physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and working in varying weather conditions).
* A strong passion for the game of golf and turf management.
* Desire to apply your knowledge to maintain and improve the quality of our course.
* Sound communication skills and ability to manage and coordinate a team of staff and volunteers.
* Knowledge of workplace safety standards.
* Current Australian driver's licence.
* Golf Course construction experience is advantageous but not essential.
The role consists of:
· Managing the current team along with volunteers.
· Develop and implement maintenance plans and programs for the course.
· Ensure exceptional conditions of the course are upheld.
· Maintain equipment and adhere to all relevant safety standards.
· Provide guidance and training to staff and volunteers to ensure tasks are performed correctly.
· Provide regular communication to the relevant stakeholders regarding course condition and maintenance practices.
· This position is full-time on site, including some weekend and occasional public holiday work.
The expected salary range for this position is $90-$120K incl superannuation based on experience.
