This is a unique chance to lead the baking team of a South Australian favorite known for commitment to quality, consistency, and innovation in artisan bread production.
Role Overview
As our Head Baker, you will lead day-to-day bakery operations, mentor fellow bakers and maintain high standards of bread production for a diverse wholesale customer base.
This is a hands-on leadership position and is perfect for someone who thrives on building teams and perfecting the craft of artisan bread.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead all stages of bread production including innovation and development
* Coordinate production schedules for efficiency, quality, and timely delivery
* Mentor, train, and support bakers, ensuring a positive team environment
* Maintain strict hygiene and cleanliness, personally supervising cleaning routines
* Decision-making across the shift, ensuring problems are resolved swiftly
Key Requirements
* Qualified baker with Certificate III in Baking (or similar baking trade qualification)
* Minimum 5 years' recent experience in a fast-paced or wholesale bakery setting
* Demonstrated success leading bakery teams with a positive management style
* Expertise in dough development, bread fermentation and artisan baking techniques
* Excellent organisational, time-management, and communication skills
* Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to product excellence
