Senior Electrical Engineer Role
Fyfe’s Energy and Resources Group collaborates with major Australian clients to deliver specialist oil and gas, mining, hydrogen and power generation projects across the country.
The Opportunity:
As a Senior Power Generation Engineer, you will be a key contributor to the future of power generation and renewable energy developments in Australia. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in concept and detailed design, grid connection process including power systems modelling, construction and commissioning support, and NEM compliance to drive innovative solutions for our clients.
This position offers an opportunity to engage in various aspects of project delivery, construction and commissioning management, with potential site-based support for projects across Australia.
Fyfe works with major energy developers, network service providers and solution providers to deliver energy projects across the country. These include:
* Utility scale energy generating facilities (gas, hydrogen, solar, wind and BESS);
* Transmission and Distribution Network Substations and switchyards;
* Decarbonisation Projects, Studies, Initiatives and Strategies;
Your Key Responsibilities Will Include:
* Support client engagement and develop business opportunities;
* Provide technical input for grid connections, substation design, and generator connection;
* Develop specific project related design deliverables, review subcontractor documents and participate in project delivery;
* If required, provide on-site support for projects across Australia.
Requirements and Qualifications
We are seeking a candidate with the following qualifications and experience:
* Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field;
* At least 7 years experience in electrical design deliverables for power generation facilities in Australia;
* Strong understanding of HV, MV and LV electrical design, general arrangement and generator connections process;
* Competent in the use of electrical design and modelling tools like ETAP, Digsilent PowerFactory, PSCAD or similar;
* Sound understanding of Australian industry codes and standards in particular the National Electricity Rules (NER);
* Excellent oral and written communication skills, with ability to effectively negotiate with stakeholders.
