The City of Fremantle is currently seeking to appoint experienced, motivated, and enthusiastic Supervisor Parks & Landscape to lead the Parks and Landscape field based operational teams to deliver operational programs to meet corporate, long-term financial, directorate, and business unit objectives, goals and strategic direction maintaining a focus on quality.

Key responsibilities include:

* Supervise, support, develop, mentor and motivate staff by setting clear direction and delegating effectively.
* Undertake purchasing, including preparation and assessment of procurement documentation, including assisting with tenders, manage contracts and monitor contractor performance, and approve and report on expenditure for projects and programs to ensure delivery within established project or program budgets.
* Gather and investigate information from a variety of sources within the City's organisational environment as well as identify external opportunities, to monitor programs and projects exploring innovative alternatives and incorporate best practice approaches.
* Respond to technical enquiries from and liaise with a range of stakeholders, including consultants, contractors, internal staff, external project partners, residents, and community groups, to support the timely implementation of projects and programs.
* Actively contribute to the development and implementation of the Parks and Landscape business plan, policies and processes as a key team member.
* Provide an exemplary standard of courteous and efficient service to internal and external customers and stakeholders in all verbal and written communication and in accordance with the City's customer service charter and cultural principles.

To succeed in this position, you will need to possess the following:

* Significant experience in management and maintenance of Municipal public open spaces inclusive of sporting fields, reserves, streetscapes and related infrastructure inclusive of horticultural operational practices, techniques and machine operation knowledge.
* Demonstrated experience in the identification, control and management practices of weed, pest and diseases relevant for public open space horticulture.
* Sound knowledge of irrigation requirements for amenity horticulture maintenance within a Municipal environment.
* Demonstrated experience in or capacity to develop sound project management and contract management skills for project or program delivery, including maintenance programs.
* Proven ability to liaise effectively with all levels of stakeholders both internally and externally ensuring a high level of customer service.
* Excellent team coordination and leadership skills with demonstrated experience in the supervision and management of staff, establishing goals.
* Sound verbal and written communication, customer service.
* Developed organisation, coordination, and time management skills.
* Well-developed computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite of applications, and Adobe Suite.
