Orana Engineering is seeking a skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our close-knit team of forward-thinking engineers based in Mackay.About The PositionIn this full-time role, you'll report directly to the Engineering Manager and play a leading role in the delivery of multidisciplinary projects across the mining and heavy industrial sectors.This position offers a rewarding balance of office-based design, site support, and project management, where you'll apply your expertise to solve complex engineering challenges and drive projects from concept through to completion.

Utilise industry standard engineering design software and tools (AutoCAD, Inventor, Advance Steel, Plant 3D, SPACE GASS, Pipe Flow Expert, AutoPIPE, 3D scanning, etc).
Similar software experience is welcomed.Perform engineering audits, inspections and design reviews, prepare reports and deliver technical presentations.Manage all facets of project management from concept to completion, ensuring scope, budgets and deliverable schedules are met, and maintain qualified communication with the client throughout the project.Provide technical leadership and mentorship for junior engineers.Participate in both onsite and office-based works throughout the project lifecycle.Collaborate with clients, vendors and internal teams to deliver quality outcomes.Opportunities to perform onsite works with high-profile clients.Work alongside other senior, principal and RPEQ engineers committed to continuously improving and delivering quality engineering services and solutions to our clients.About YouYou are an experienced Mechanical Engineer with demonstrated experience in delivering high quality projects in the mining and heavy industrial sectors.
You bring a combination of strong technical expertise and innovative problem-solving skills alongside the ability to clearly communicate complex ideas to both clients and colleagues.You thrive in an environment that balances hands-on design and project management, taking ownership of project outcomes and building long term client relationships that aligns with business objectives.RequirementsBachelor of Engineering (Mechanical), recognised by Engineers Australia.Experience in mining, oil and gas and heavy industrial sectors, or similar industries.Working towards or already obtained RPEQ statusAbout UsOrana Engineering is a well-established, multidisciplinary design consultancy specialising in providing engineering solutions for various projects across the mining and heavy industrial sectors in Queensland.
