About the Company
As a Software Engineer in a growing fintech/edtech company based in Southport on the Gold Coast, this role offers the chance to contribute to an ambitious product in a close-knit, creative team.
Responsibilities
* Build and maintain scalable, secure backend systems using
* Develop and integrate RESTful and GraphQL APIs to power game and platform features
* Collaborate with the Unity team to ensure smooth backend-to-frontend integration
* Design and manage database schemas (MongoDB, PostgreSQL) for performance and integrity
* Contribute to the development of CI/CD pipelines for reliable deployments
* Partner with front-end developers, designers, and product stakeholders
Qualifications
* Minimum 2 years commercial backend development experience
Required Skills
* Strong skills in JavaScript/TypeScript and (transferable technology like .Net\Java\PHP would be considered)
* Experience with MongoDB, PostgreSQL, or other modern databases
* Familiarity with CI/CD tools and deployment best practices
* Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
Nice to Haves
* Experience integrating backend services with Unity or other game engines
* Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
* Experience with Docker and containerisation
Pay range and compensation package
Salary negotiable depending on experience and capability. Circa $110,000 + Super
