Customer Service Officer – Visitor Services
Location: paranaple arts centre, Devonport
Employment Type: Part-Time 30 hours per fortnight
Classification: Level 3
Salary: $65,034 pro rata ($***** per hour) + superannuation
Devonport City Council is seeking a Part-Time Customer Service Officer to join our team at the paranaple arts centre.
This role would be perfect for someone passionate about delivering exceptional customer experiences and promoting local tourism and cultural activities.
The incumbent will work 30 hours per fortnight on a split roster including weekend work.
Hours will generally be 9:00 am – 2:30 pm with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break; on Wednesdays and Saturdays they will be 8:45 am – 2:15 pm.
Schedule: Week 1 – Wednesday, Friday, Saturday; Week 2 – Monday, Wednesday and Thursday.
Key Responsibilities
Provide friendly and professional customer service to visitors and patrons.
Sell tourism products, tickets, and retail items.
Support box office operations, including bookings and ticketing.
Promote exhibitions, programs, and cultural events.
Process financial transactions accurately and maintain daily balances.
What We're Looking For
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Administration, computing, and cash handling experience.
Knowledge of Devonport and Tasmania's tourism offerings.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Flexibility in working hours and willingness to adapt.
Essential Checks: National Police Record Check and Working with Vulnerable People Check.
Desirable
Certificate III in Business or Marketing
First Aid Certificate
Experience with reservation systems.
