Campus Operations Manager (Grounds, Buildings, Transport & Safety)
Reporting to the Principal and Business Manager, this hands‐on leadership role is responsible for the day‐to‐day management and strategic oversight of the College's operational services, including:
* Transport (school bus system and vehicles)
* Grounds and facilities maintenance
* Contractor engagement and coordination
* Workplace Health & Safety (WHS/OHS) systems and compliance
* Fire and Evacuation systems and compliance
You will play a key role in ensuring operational excellence across the campus while fostering a strong culture of safety and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee and manage the College transport system, including bus operations and vehicle maintenance
* Plan routes and coordinate bus runs using "RollCall" bus software
* Lead and supervise bus drivers, maintenance, and grounds staff
* Coordinate repairs, preventative maintenance, and long‐term asset planning
* Maintain and enhance College grounds and gardens
* Engage and manage external contractors and service providers
* Develop and manage maintenance schedules and budgets in consultation with leadership
* Coordinate and oversee WHS/OHS systems, ensuring compliance with legislation and College policies
* Promote a proactive safety culture, including hazard reporting and risk management
* Provide operational support for College events and activities
* Contribute positively to team culture and communication across the College
About You
You are a practical, proactive leader with a strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and high standards.
You will bring:
* Relevant qualifications and/or demonstrated experience in facilities, maintenance, or operations management
* Proven experience in groundskeeping, repairs, and maintenance, including use of machinery and equipment
* Experience managing staff, contractors, and operational workflows
* Strong working knowledge of Workplace Health & Safety (WHS/OHS) requirements and compliance
* Sound administrative and organisational skills
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships within a school community
* A current Working with Children Check (Blue Card)
