As custodians of RSL Queensland's State Branch, the Office of the CEO is responsible for implementing the organisation's strategic direction set by the Board of Directors, while delivering direction and support to RSL Queensland's various committees, and the organisation at large.
The Manager - Defence Partnerships is responsible for contract management with the Australian Government, Department of Defence for activities undertaken in Queensland up to a value of ~$1 million. This integral role at RSLQ supports the Head of Defence Partnerships to complete strategic plans, activity reports and contract benefits realisation for relationships nationwide.
Managing Queensland based contracts requires expert management of relationships, working alongside Defence and often spending significant time on Defence bases, to ensure the deployment of human performance programs, welfare training and programs, hands on delivery of community engagement activities of significant scale and project managing pilot initiatives.
As part of the Strategic Partnerships & Research team, key responsibilities include (though are not limited to):
* overall operational management of all contracts in the portfolio, including term negotiation, contract renewals, and incident response/review
* coordinating with RSLQ's legal team to ensure all Defence contractual and non-contracted activities are undertaken in line with relevant requirements and frameworks
* ensuring legal, statutory, and organisational compliance obligations are captured in agreements and all leveraging activities meet requirements
* providing comprehensive knowledge to the team on ADF policy
* presenting on-base to various stakeholders across Australia to promote RSLQ initiatives and representing RSLQ at Defence driven forums
* leveraging and generating opportunities for the wider Veteran Services team through a demonstrated understanding of the key portfolio and priorities of Commanding Officers
About you:
* Relevant tertiary qualification in Business or related discipline, or relevant work experience
* At least 5 years' experience in a similar career and/or employment services role, preferably within a community-based organisation dealing with stakeholders at all levels (Executive level, Senior Management and Government)
* Demonstrated ability to draft sponsorship agreements and execute agreements in line with legal requirements
* Flexibility to work across and within broad geographical areas
* Ability to travel to meet portfolio engagements required across Australia
