**The Role**

The role of the Finance Business Partner - BAU will be to contribute to the team via three accountabilities with a predominate focus on specific key internal business units. The position will contribute to the success of the Banks operational performance by identifying new opportunities to improve or reduce costs, assessing financial outcomes and benchmarking internal bank performance.

The core purpose of the Bank Performance Management team is to add value to Bank/Group by:

- Partnering with stakeholders to challenge and understand, challenge and influence financial performance and provide a forward-looking view of financial performance
- Leveraging our knowledge of current/future financial performance to provide actionable insights to identify risks/opportunities and support decision making
- Owning the messages around the Bank's financial performance; providing insightful commentary on financial performance/management reporting across a range of stakeholders across the Bank, Group and shareholders

**What you'll do**
- Champion being the go-to Finance partner from key internal stakeholders by providing timely and accurate insights to drive better business efficiencies
- Lead and undertake scenario modelling and "what if" analysis and provide financial support and input for business cases for major development initiatives, capital expenditure, system implementations and procurement contracts. Understand and monitor the impact of price / volume decisions on future portfolio performance
- Accelerate delivery and eliminate rework through disciplined execution, agility and clear KPIs. In this role you will identify opportunities for optimisation and productivity growth through minimising waste and embedding learnings
- Take a proactive approach to build relationships with key stakeholders across the Bank and Group. Stakeholders include Bank Leadership Team, Bank Performance Management and Group Finance
- Review and challenge key stakeholders on their input to the Bank's rolling forecast on a monthly basis, including a summary of the changes in underlying business drivers that are producing a change in the overall forecast results. Including quarterly forecasts, Budget and 3-year planning forecasts
- Maintenance of the Bank's rolling forecast system, including sources of data and assumptions to ensure the system is capable of producing the Bank's rolling revenue forecast at the appropriate level of detail to provide meaningful understanding of the results, but ensuring the system is not too complex such that it impacts the timeliness of the generation of results
- Lead, indirectly, Finance Analysts in the team by providing day to day direction and mentoring as they provide the data and majority of inputs for the above key outputs

**What you'll bring**
- Qualification in Accounting, Business, Economics or Finance related field (degree, diploma, or certificate) (mandatory)
- Greater than 7 years professional experience
- 3 years' experience in a financial institution / bank (desirable)
- Experienced in explaining and communicating financial performance drivers
- Strong analytical capability (incl. data analysis) with background in business analysis, management reporting and / or decision support
- Knowledge of TM1 (desirable)
- Strong understanding of management accounting fundamentals
- Working knowledge of banking revenue drivers and customer balance sheet dynamics
