The cattle are walked from the feedlot to the plant, minimizing stress and transportation costs, while simultaneously improving eating quality – one of only two in the southern hemisphere.Based just outside Yanco, between the popular townships of Leeton and Narrandera in the heart of the Murrumbidgee Irrigation district (or Riverina region), our location ensures the ability to source high quality feeder cattle and grain to produce premium beef.
The plant employs approximately 420 team members with a processing capacity of 600 head of cattle per day, operating 5 days per week.About the RoleOur Riverina Plant is seeking a passionate Quality Assurance Officer to join our FSQA team in a full-time capacity.
In this role, you'll ensure our products consistently meet safety, quality, and regulatory standards by monitoring production processes, conducting inspections, and driving compliance with food safety systems.Your key responsibilities will include:Conducting pre-operational hygiene assessments of the PlantPerforming daily checks to ensure all customer specifications and regulatory requirements are consistently met across productionParticipating in internal audits when requiredReporting any inadequacy in approved programs or processing procedures to the FSQA ManagerUndertaking any other relevant activities as directedAbout YouCurrent Attainment of Ausmeat Accreditation advantageousIndustry experience in FSQA practices advantageousGood understanding of quality assurance principles and HACCPGood written, verbal and interpersonal skillsSound computer and MS Office skillsAbility to work with minimal supervisionGood organisational and time management skillsSound auditing skillsWhy work for JBS?
