Role Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Patient Administration Assistant to join our team.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

As a key member of our admissions service, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of patient admissions, theatre bookings, and other administrative tasks.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care and experience.

Key Responsibilities

1. Manage theatre bookings and patient accounts in webPAS, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
2. Update theatre booking information as necessary, based on correspondence received from Specialist practices.
3. Monitor patients' completion of admissions paperwork and take appropriate action to ensure progression.
4. Assist patients with the completion of admissions paperwork, face-to-face, where required.
5. Validate and process admissions forms, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
6. Verify Pre-Admissions Clinic appointment requirements for patients and book appointments accordingly.
7. Ensure that all patients who require a Pre-admissions assessment have relevant nursing forms in their admissions pack.
8. Conduct health fund checks and obtain health fund quotes for uncovered patients.
9. Review and validate patient consents and payments.
10. Generate patient admissions files and maintain sound document management practices.
11. Facilitate all aspects of booking cancellations and rescheduling.

Qualifications and Skills

* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to provide high-level customer service.
* High level of attention to detail and data entry accuracy, with sound planning and organisational skills.
* Ability to prioritise tasks and cope with competing demands.
* Knowledge of the admissions process in a private hospital environment.
* General understanding of document management.
* Strong computer skills, with good working knowledge of MS Office and webPAS.
* Patient care mindset aligned with our organisation's Mission and Values.
