Job Description Electrical Engineering Technician At TOM'S CRANE (AUSTRALIA) PTY LTD, we are looking for a full time (at least 38 hours per week) skilled Electrical Engineering Technician to perform the following duties.
Responsibilities
* Sketching technical visuals and creating schematic representations for on‑site tower crane power supply layouts, including temporary site distribution boards and crane motor control circuits.
* Supporting the development and modification process of tower crane control panel systems and on‑site electrical network schemes in collaboration with technical teams.
* Conducting precise measurements, executing detailed computations (such as voltage drop, motor starting current, and load analysis for crane operations), and visualizing outcomes through graphs and data charts.
* Calculating resource needs and projecting budget estimates for tower crane electrical system components, upgrades, and repair parts.
* Reviewing technical outputs and verifying adherence to relevant Australian engineering codes, safety standards and quality standards for electrical installations on cranes.
* Setting up, fine‑tuning, troubleshooting, and upgrading tower crane electrical assemblies and control systems to ensure operational safety and compliance with manufacturer specifications and site requirements.
* Handling component integration tasks in a workshop setting, involving the configuration of safety relays, overload protection devices, and load moment indicator (LMI) signal monitoring modules for tower cranes.
* Contributing to innovation efforts by participating in trial setups and exploratory evaluations of new electrical components, energy efficiency systems, or remote monitoring technologies for crane fleets.
Requirements
* Relevant qualification or 3 years of experience in lieu of the qualification.
* At least 1 year of experience.
* Ability to work under pressure.
* Organisational and time management skills.Excellent attention to detail.
* Confident manner.
* Positive approach to change.
Position: Full Time (at least 38 hours per week)
Salary: $76,000 – 120,000 per year
Location: Tuart Hill, WA 6060
