An exciting opportunity is available to join the Sterilising Services team at Gosford Hospital in a temporary full-time position, with the possibility of extension following the contract end date. Applicants must be flexible and available to work all shifts across the service, including: Monday to Friday, between 6:00 am and 10:00 pm and Weekends and public holidays, between 7:00 am and 8:30 pm.
About the Opportunity The Grade 3 Technician is responsible for undertaking routine reprocessing activities while providing leadership, supervision, education, and guidance to team members. In this role, you will work closely with the Manager to support the effective and efficient operation of the department, fostering a collaborative and cohesive team environment. You will demonstrate extensive experience and advanced technical expertise, either across a broad range of functions or within a specialised area of practice.
Your Key Responsibilities
* Perform all stages of reprocessing, including cleaning, inspection, assembly, sterilisation, and distribution of reusable medical devices.
* Operate and monitor sterilisation equipment, ensuring compliance with quality assurance and validation requirements.
* Troubleshoot equipment, workflow, and reprocessing issues within scope of practice.
* Provide supervision, mentoring, and on-the-job training to technicians and support staff.
* Support performance monitoring and contribute to staff development and competency assessments.
* Ensure adherence to infection control standards, workplace health and safety requirements, and organisational policies.
* Assist the Manager with workflow coordination, rostering support, stock control, and continuous quality improvement activities.
* Contribute to audits, accreditation processes, and documentation requirements.

About You
* You have the relevant qualifications in Sterilising Services or equivalent.
* You have an extensive experience in sterilising services or reprocessing of reusable medical devices.
* You can demonstrated advanced technical knowledge of sterilisation standards and processes.
* You have experience in supervising, mentoring and supporting staff within a team environment.
