About the Role:
Are you a Speech Pathologist with extensive clinical experience?
We are flexible about fields within speech pathology but are looking particularly for experience with disability and/or adult populations.
Curtin University School of Allied Health invites applications for a dynamic and motivated individual to join our team as Lecturer or Senior Lecturer (Teaching Academic or Teaching & Research) in Speech Pathology.
This is a part-time (FTE, 4 days per week) fixed-term 5-year contract position, tailored for an individual who excels in their field.
The role involves coordinating units, developing materials, and designing curricula, as well as teaching and supervising students at various levels.
The ideal candidate should have clinical experience, engage in impactful teaching/scholarship of learning and teaching, have research expertise (particularly for Level C) and build relationships with industry and the community.
Desired capabilities include significant experience in a university setting, particularly in equity programmes and supporting diverse students from various backgrounds and age groups.
What we are looking for:
A doctoral qualification in a relevant discipline (or equivalence and professional standing for a Teaching Academic role at Level B – please see below).
Demonstrated high level teaching skill and a demonstrated reflective approach to teaching delivery.
A strong understanding of pedagogical theory and contemporary educational practice relevant to the discipline and a record of contribution to scholarship in teaching.
Demonstrated experience / capacity to undertake unit coordination role.
Demonstrated high level communication and interpersonal skills with a commitment to the development of a collegial and supportive working environment and the ability to interact with students and staff with cross cultural sensitivity.
Demonstrated commitment to applying relevant and applicable policies, procedures and legislation in the day-to-day performance of the functions of this position.
If you would like to be considered for an ALC level, please ensure that you also add the following criteria in addition to the above:
An established record of research outputs/creative works in high quality refereed academic journals/outlets consistent with the discipline.
A history of successful competitive grant applications.
Demonstrated ability to supervise higher degree research students.
Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to lead major curriculum and/or research initiatives, provide mentoring to less experienced staff and supervise HDR students.
Evidence of an established national reputation and growing international profile and a record of obtaining research income, including nationally competitive research grants and/or fellowships.
Role Requirements:
As this is a fixed-term contract, you will require current work rights in Australia that match the tenure of this role.
