Hays Recruitment is looking to engage a Procurement Advisor for a government authority on the Gold Coast.
Your new company
The Strategic Procurement team supports major service divisions. The team provides procurement advice that supports value for money, uses statewide buying power, drives supplier innovation and considers community impact in all procurement activity.
Your new role
You will provide expert procurement advice across high‑risk and high‑value categories. You will manage end‑to‑end procurement processes, support planning across divisions and lead key sourcing and demand management work. You will work with senior stakeholders, prepare clear documentation and drive improvements that support stronger commercial outcomes.
Key Duties
* Provide procurement and commercial advice to senior leaders
* Negotiate with suppliers, resolve issues and manage supply risk
* Deliver end‑to‑end procurement for complex, high‑value categories
* Support annual procurement planning and align divisional needs with organisational priorities
* Deliver sourcing and demand management work and secure improved commercial outcomes
* Work with finance teams to support integrated planning and reporting
* Advise leaders on value creation opportunities through procurement
* Lead multiple projects and use team capability effectively to meet deadlines
What you'll need to succeed
* Strong experience in strategic procurement
* Skilled in end‑to‑end processes, negotiation and contract‑related work
* Confident supporting senior stakeholders and advising on risk, compliance and commercial outcomes.What you'll get in return
