PRIMARY OBJECTIVE
The Production Supervisor oversees daily poultry processing operations, ensuring efficiency, quality, and compliance with SOPs, GMPs, HACCP, and OH&S regulations. They are responsible for meeting production targets, optimizing resources, and minimizing costs while maintaining high food safety standards. This role involves leading and mentoring employees, implementing continuous improvement initiatives, and fostering a culture of safety and teamwork. The supervisor collaborates with Quality Assurance, Maintenance, and HR to ensure seamless operations and compliance with company policies and customer requirements. Their ultimate goal is to drive efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance overall production performance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Production & Process Management
* Supervise daily production activities to meet operational targets, including efficiency, yield, and quality.
* Ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), HACCP, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
* Implement and monitor preventive maintenance programs to reduce downtime and improve equipment reliability.
* Identify, recommend, and implement continuous improvement strategies to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
* Monitor and control production schedules, adjusting resources as needed to meet demand fluctuations.
* Ensure accurate documentation of production data, including efficiency, downtime, and quality control records.
Quality Assurance & Food Safety Compliance
* Maintain strict adherence to HACCP, GMP, and food safety regulations to ensure product quality and customer satisfaction.
* Conduct regular inspections to identify and address quality or safety concerns proactively.
* Work closely with the Quality Assurance (QA) team to address customer complaints, product non-conformities, and implement corrective actions.
* Ensure proper sanitation and hygiene practices are followed at all times in production areas.
* Supervise, train, and motivate production staff to achieve operational goals.
* Conduct performance reviews, provide feedback, and support employee development through ongoing training.
* Promote a positive workplace culture, ensuring clear communication and collaboration across teams.
* Foster a strong safety-first mindset, ensuring all employees understand and adhere to OH&S policies.
Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) Compliance
* Enforce compliance with all workplace safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
* Conduct risk assessments and implement hazard control measures to ensure a safe work environment.
* Lead investigations into workplace incidents, identifying root causes and implementing preventive actions.
* Collaborate with the OH&S Manager to promote a strong safety culture and reduce workplace injuries.
Cost & Resource Management
* Optimize labor, materials, and equipment usage to improve cost efficiency.
* Monitor and control production-related costs, identifying opportunities to reduce expenses while maintaining quality.
* Ensure proper inventory management of raw materials and packaging supplies.
