**About the position**
As a member of a small team, the Outreach Worker provides direct service activities, crisis intervention, assessment, casework / case management services and ongoing support to minimise the harm of drug use to young people. Youth AOD Outreach workers are required to work independently across a range of areas with support from the team and supervisor.
**Some of your key responsibilities will be**
- The provision of a developmentally appropriate and responsive service to vulnerable young people from communities in the Northern region of Melbourne.
- Undertake outreach to initiate and maintain contact with young people at risk of disengagement from services and community.
- Implement a range of modalities including but not limited to: intensive individual casework, group work, family work, out postings, street outreach, collaboration and care planning.
- Advocate on behalf of young people in the target population and in consultation with other key stakeholders.
- Provision of support and information to young people about drugs and alcohol, which is consistent with a harm minimisation perspective.
- Support and encourage young people to develop links with other services and/ or communities.
